Ah, my alma mater....1974.

I had rifles and pistols in my dorm room Freshman and Sophomore year, then moved off campus. Would strap the rifle on the side of the motorcycle and head down to the quarry and have some quality time. I carried concealed a few times under my leather jacket (1911 in a Bianchi shoulder rig).

It was no big deal back then. How times have changed.

just voted. Looks overwhelming. 87% would feel safer if conceal carry were allowed on campus, 12% wouldn't.

Carrying guns on a college campus is stupid. All things considered, it would have been safer forty years ago than it would be now. And nobody would have done it back then. Too many people that really should not be let into higher education currently are, and the problems stem from this terrible situation. Not p.c., but true.

I am a faculty member in Detroit, and I think you are in error.
I know several teachers besides myself who have received death threats,
and they do not come from those who can or would carry legally.

Those who consult me about getting their CCW/CPL are those whom I would trust to carry in my classes.

My business partner has a daughter there now, and his oldest Graduated from V-Tech last year, she was in a building about 200 yds from the shooting when it occurred... She could have cared less one way or the other about CCW or guns in general... The 1st thing that she did when she got back to Texas was ask to go with her dad and I to a gun show to go shopping...

Thank you I voted feel safer and passed it on.
I would have a hard time not getting involved if someone was in danger from any means. Be it fire, an unsafe act on the job or being in harms way by intent of another person.
I no longer live in a city or state {NJ} where a blind eye is turned towards those in need.
I now live in the country and it fits like a glove. Good folks and good hearts where faith in humanity still lives.
It is kept alive by personal choice and accountability for our actions.
I do not believe in sitting idle when need arises and the tools to take care of business are at hand.
SW 66 2 1/2 inch comes to mind.
