I spent last week in Seattle for an INAAU conference. (International Alliance of Avaya Users) It was a good time. Nice city etc. To get there I flew out of Boston, did a layover in Chicago and then on to Seattle.
When I got to the Boston airport I realized that I had forgot the book I was intending to read. So I went into the airport shop that sold magazines and books and started looking around for something to read. As I looked through what was available I noticed that there wasn't one gun related magazine or book in the place. Figuring that reading a gun mag on a plane wasn't such a good idea anyway, I put it out of my mind and picked a couple of others magazines to read.
Once I landed in Chicago I had some time to kill so I figured I'd go and check if they sold any gun magazines or books in their store. Answer= NO. Since I've heard nothing but bad things about gun rights in Chicago, I wasn't to surprised.
What I was surprised about though is that when I landed in Seattle I was walking to baggage claim and walked by the book and magazine store. I wasn't even thinking about checking, but I didn't have to anyway. There was a rack right out front with 7-8 different handgun and rifle magazines. There were even a guy leafing through one as he waited in the check out line. Wow, I thought to myself.
Got me thinking. Have any of you ever noticed this before? Is there some airports that are more conservative then others? Just wondering.
