I rented a Taurus PT92 today only because they didn't have a Beretta 92FS available. Functionally it was probably a dead-ringer for the Beretta aside from the safety location and function. I was impressed with how such a smooth shooter it was. I didn't like the double-action first shot, then the transition to the single-action mode. I didn't care for the sights too much either, however after shooting a Sig 229 a couple of days ago, I didn't get the impression that they were sitting high on a watch-tower, and they came up more-or-less naturally. It was a BIG and hefty gun! I couldn't get over that, coming from mid-sized Glocks, how could one choose this weapon over the Glock when it's half the size and weight and holds as many rounds  . Overall a good experience and now have a better understanding from other's points of view regarding these weapons, but I'm still a true-blue Glocker.

I feel less recoil with a Beretta than most 9mm plastic pistols. I prefer a metal lower and a manual safety. I don't mind the DA pull, and I absolutely prefer a single action trigger to one that is "safe action."

You may notice that in my description the phrases "I feel" and "I prefer" pop up, and that's exactly my point - it's subjective. Still, it's fun to try out new stuff, ain't it?

The only thing not up for debate is the way the pistol looks. The lines of a Beretta are seductive; sexy, without being pornographic.
