In another post, people mentioned a few ranges, I am however interested to learn why it is recommended that one should avoid the Princeton, IA public range?

My guess is because it is unregulated, but I haven't been there yet.

Any feedback appreciated, and also if anyone else knows a a good rifle range in or near the quad cities, that would be appreciated also.

Well with respect...if you don't know then you can't help me can you ? Hehe

On the other hand, the quad cities is a group of four cities straddling the mississippi river, two cities in illinois and two in iowa. It is however a single metropolitan area. People here, unless refering to a specific city or municipality call the larger portion of the area the Quad City area, similar to "greater Miami Dade" in Florida.

If you are from anywhere near here in the midwest (within reason), you know of the quad cities.

Moline, Rock Island, Davenport & Bettendorf = QC.

Add E. Moline and its the old Quint Cities.

Add the rest of the towns around there for even more counting in Latin fun.

There is a good one about 40 min from the Quad Cities, in N.Liberty. Not sure if you want to drive that far though.

Ummm..Milan has an outstanding range, with at least 600 yard capability. I believe it's called Milan Shooting Club, but if you go on USPSA.org, they are listed there.
