I currenty own a Glock 20 10mm that i have carried on my side for a couple of years, but i'm about to start an outside sales job where i will need something much more concealable because i will be having my shirt tucked in and cant see new clients with a 10mm strapped to my side. what im looking for is something small that i can carry in a tuckable or "smartcarry" holster. i have been looking at the kel-tec pf9, but was wondering what other opinions were out there. the only time i will need it is when i cant carry my glock (which will otherwise be in the car). just wondering what others thought about the kel-tec pf9. also have looked at the p11.

I've got a PF9 and love it. Very flat, lightweight and easily concealable even with a t shirt and shorts. For me the grip and trigger are much nicer than the P11. The trigger pull is long, but also smooth and not too heavy. The pinky extension on the mag gets my hand just enough grip.

I expect if you like your 10mm that you are not too recoil sensitive, so you should have no trouble shooting it. I enjoy mine at the range, even after 100 rounds.

Not sure how much you are looking to spend, but the Kahr builds some very concealable pistols. I personally own both the CW9 and CW40 , and would recommended either of them. If memory serves me .. I paid just under 400 a piece for them .

It's just plain tough to beat a Kahr for easy concealment and still be an accurate shooting pistol.

Having said that, I carry a CZ RAMI in the winter and a Ruger LCP in the summer. But I sure do like my buddies Kahr.

I have a PF-9, but after a trip back to Kel-Tec am still having some FTF issues.

If you get a reliable one, it's the smallest, lightest 9mm readily available at a reasonable price. I had bad luck with a Kahr PM-45, but it's my understanding that the 9mms are pretty reliable. The Kahr's trigger-pull is much to be desired over the Kel-Tec's. If you can afford the extra shekels, my advice would be to go with a Kahr PM-9.

I have a pf9 as my first ccw piece. I love it. It is small, lightweight, and has had no problems with any ammo I've fed it, including cast bullet reloads and hollow points.

While I've heard that some people have had problems with them, mine has been very reliable.

I have to say, my wife does not like it. The recoil is not something she is happy with. Before you buy it, try it.

Take a closer look at new Kimber 'Solo' 9mm pistol. It looks like they have a winner there.

Kahr PM45 is small, or the PM9. Kahr is coming out with the CM9, a more cost effective PM9. About $200.00 cheaper?

I bought a pf-9 for my first CCW. I have been very satisfied with it. The only jam I have had with it was when my wife was shooting it and that was during the first couple of magazines. It is not a fun gun to shoot, but that isn't what its for. IMO its a lot of gun for the money.

I have a PF9 and love it. It has been 100% reliable. I also have a Kahr PM40 and love it too...would highly recommend checking out the PM9 or soon to be released CM9. They would be a little smaller all around. For IWB, the thinner the better.

I also EDC the PF-9, and have had no failures with it on the range. Cannot say any more about it that has not been said above. It would be a good choice.

Another for the pf-9 .Thats my everday carry and never had a faulure of any type or maybe the p-11 if more rounds are wanted.

I carry a Kahr PM9 at 4 o'clock in a Supertuck-style single-clip IWB holster that I had someone make for me. Very comfortable and easy to tuck (with any tuckable holster, it takes a little bit of practice to tuck in). If your CCW isn't super heavy, a single clip is sufficient and much easier to tuck than a double clip. I wear polo shirts and khakis to work and it disappears. Depending on how tight your shirt is at the waistline, it will print a little if you bend over. You can probably eliminate that by wearing it at 3 o'clock, but that position is uncomfortable on my hip.

quick answer

Kahr 9 or 40
Ruger LCP- Carry two if you like-Extremely concealable and light
Kimber Ultra carry- Any officers model 1911 with 3-3.5" barrel. I carry several different 1911's and I am shocked at how much difference giving up one round of ammo makes in concealability. I carry mine in a sparks VM-2.
