I'm looking for opinions from those of you that have owned / shot / been around in person a Rossi single shot rifle ( Not the Wizard ) in .44 mag.

Have they been trouble free and found to be durable ? Are they acceptably accurate ? Have the cheap plastics sights held up and been an issue ?

Thanks

My best friend bought a H&R single shot 44mag about a year and a half ago and it has been back to the factory 3 times for the same problem. It would not hold a group. It throwed lead all over the place. We were not impressed with the quality control of Remington at all. He sold it and bought a Rossi 44 mag rifle now and has not had one issue with it. We never used the sights on it because we scoped it right away. It shoots 1" groups @50yds and 2" groups @ 100yds and I loaded the bullets for it they were 240gr Nosler JSP with H 22.8gr and a Federal NO.155 primer.

I'm looking at this same rifle, with the shotgun combo barrel. Glad to hear they hold up well
How much did your fried pay for the rifle? What scope did he put on it.
