As the title states I'm looking for a holster for recently purchased Ruger SP101 3". This will be my first ever holster and my first time ever carrying a gun of any kind. I'm looking for something that can be moved around the belt in a trial and error way as to find how I would like to carry. Would like to stay as a IWB and prefer leather. Thankyou. Post pics if you have them.

Simply Rugged's pancake, I don't know what they call the model for the small revolver's (Silver Dollar?), is a 3-slot pancake that will allow strong side and cross draw. If you buy the Inside Out straps, you can also wear it IWB.

Simply Rugged (it is the Silver Dollar) http://www.simplyrugged.com/ecommer...aled-Carry-Holster.cfm?item_id=152&parent=669

For a whole lot more money (I admit I don't know if they make them for small revolvers), and even more versatility, and some "killer" looks, is the Pure Kustom Black Ops Pro http://www.purekustomholsters.com

I own neither of the above, but both have fine reputations. While you asked for leather, I have a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom kydex holster. It can be worn OWB or IWB. You can also change the ride height and cant. It is a very versatile holster.

FYI - Raven Concealment Systems is in the Cleveland area, if that makes a difference.

I know you said you preferred leather, but I will throuw this out there:

I have one for a Taurus 85, LC9s, and XDs. They are more comfortable right off the bat than leather, and I forget I am wearing them more easily. They also cause me to sweat under them less. They are not as durable as leather, but the customer support will replace parts quickly and for free if they fail.

To put it in perspective, I retired my Comp-Tac Minotaur hybrid Leather/Kydex that I have not used since I got the Alien Gear. For the price, it's worth a try.

I really like the looks of this holster but I'm not sure it will work with my 3" barrel sp 101

Thanks for starting the thread-- I'd carry mine more often if I could find a good holster for it. I'll stay tuned for more info as it appears. My favorite IWB is Bianchi's Covert Option, but of course they don't have one for the Ruger.

I have a buddy that does some work with kydex, I may work with him to make something to fit my needs

Ditto on the Simply Rugged pancake convertible IWB to OWB with loop straps , nice quality leather . Hint ; specify carry cant for belt loops if you want straight up carry , I like the 20 degree cant of mine . Reasonably priced for leather product and my SP 101 2 1/4 sits in there real pretty .
