I'm hoping to find a good, secure, comfortable holster for my new Ruger SP101 without a bunch of returns/heartache/trial-and-error. I don't have strong feelings on the kydex/leather/other debate; I just want something comfortable and secure that would fit under white-collar work clothes (wool slacks and a dress shirt). Any suggestions?

I was hoping for something in the $40-$70 range.
I suspect you'll not find anything that looks like it goes with a suit in that price range, but that's your call. In that price range you're typically looking at kydex or metal clips. I can't think of any in that price range off the top of my head, but I'll see what I can find.

Thanks for those various suggestions! The High Noon looks like it might be comfortable.

I mentioned the white collar work clothes, not because I wasn't willing to have a metal clip on the belt, but to explain why I couldn't wear an untucked shirt (why I needed a tuckable design).

My point was that Rosen loop, if you bought the same color belt would blend right in with the belt. If noticed it would look like some sort of "gentleman's thing" like a watch fob or similar type device and possibly go unnoticed. On the other hand, the big metal or kydex clips will look like well, big metal or kydex clips on an IWB holster.

honestly, ive never found a comfortable way to carry the SP101 IWB.

the weight of the gun, and the diameter of the cylinder just always bothered me.

i always carried mine OWB and concealed it under a shirt or jacket.

in your case, i would really look into pocket carry

Your price range is too low for the features you want.

I recommend the Milt Sparks Criterion with their tuckable clips (you'll have to ask for them: VMKC – Kydex clip set for model VM-2 - $18). It will do the job you are asking of it. I have this setup for my Glock 19. Call them and find out if they'll do a Criterion for the SP101. I think they will; I have a Versa Max 2 for the Ruger GP100.

Dress shirt as under a suit or sport coat? You ain't gonna like a tuckable.
No suit or sport coat. The only time I throw on a sportcoat is when I'm going to court, and carrying there is prohibited by state law. Typical day-to-day clothing is just shirt and slacks and maybe a tie.

This is not me (image borrowed from the Denver Post) but is a sample of what I'm talking about:

In my opinion, the SP101 is too heavy for pocket carry, especially with wool slacks (given how it would print through them and distort how they hang).

I have no experience with that holster. However, the offset clip/loop/etc., typically does a pretty good job of pulling the grip in tighter to the body, than will the clips that are on holster body like the non-T model Bianchi 100. Generally, they won't be as stable, but with the little gun like you're planning on using, it shouldn't be much of an issue.
