Wife did an even trade in her Bodyguard .380 for a Taurus M327. Shot a few sets of Federal AE through it at 25 yards that performed well. It wasn't well taken care of as it as some rust on the hammer and ejector. Anyone else have experience with these? Good or bad.

Don't use cast lead without a very heavy crimp or canalure... they tend to walk out and bind up the cylinder. If you stick to commercially loaded jhp, your range sessions will be more costly but much more productive and enjoyable.

I have been looking at reloading for it even though I don't cast my own bullets (yet). She target shoots with 85 grain soft point rounds so I will probably pick up 85 grain XTP to keep the recoil roughly the same. The trigger pull is a little heavy and the hammer needs some work. Like bigger and easier to pull. That will be a gunsmith job down the road.

Threefortyduster u are right about trigger pull on taurus guns. I have a charter arms bulldog pug .44 special. Compared to it,the 3 ive tried are stiffer. I have a Raging Judge, now thats the stiffest one I ever tried

Own two of the 327s.

I shoot only the 85gr. Federal magnums out of mine, and the rest are H&R magnums (Buffalo Bore and Georgia Arms ammo), and the .32 S&W Longs are for fun. Mine are in the CCW rotation as a backup or main gun depending on the situation.

These compliment the Ruger GP-100 and the Ruger SP-101 in the same caliber.

Speedloaders and speed strips help carry extra ammo.

I bought a M327 about a month ago. First time out shooting Fiocci wad cutters the cylinder hung up on me while using double action. It wasn't a bad hang-up, pulling the hammer back cycled it on through. I continued to go through the whole box without any other problems using single and double action. I should mention that I just did a quick wipe down and patch through the bore after unwrapping it (new). The factory gunk on the cylinder was still there, and I believe that is what caused it to seize. Now I do a pretty detailed cleaning on the cylinder after each session.

Since that day I have put 2 boxes of Federal Am. Eagle 85 gr 327's through it and another box of Fiocci 32 WCs with no problems whatsoever. These wadcutters by the way are very soft recoiling. Good for shooting it for the first time or for someone that is recoil sensitive. They helped me get used to sight picture and function on this particular revolver without anticipating blast and recoil.

I am planning on loading for this one since its an oddball. However I haven't been impressed with the quality of Federals brass. I've had quite a few large splits after being fired once. I'm waiting for Starline to release their run of brass for this caliber, but its not expected until the end of this month.

Since I've gotten comfortable with function and handling, this has replaced my G26 for CCW at least for the remainder of this summer. Its easier for me to hide when wearing just a t-shirt and shorts. I feel the 327 Fed Mag loaded with Gold Dots is just as adequate for SD as rounds that are in my G26.
