Yesterday was, for various reasons, my first league trap shoot in six months. First anything, actually, involving firing guns. Wife's surgeries and care, my two eye surgeries.
Beautiful sunny, but windy, day. Took my somewhat faithful 870TB and two boxes of 7 1/2 Gun Clubs.
16 yards, 21. First bird ruined a 50 straight. 20 yards, 23.
I was heartened by how clear the birds appeared. Disheartened by only getting a 44. Then I saw the other guys' scores.
Not a great day for many. Wind, "ring" rust.
Great to be back, even on the short side of life.
Going to use a different trap gun each of the next five shoots.

First league shoot at the "big" club last night. I had floaters plus in my right eye. Not happy at all with results of cataract surgery on master eye. Anyway, our scores at 16 yards were 24, 22, 25, 25, 22. My son and the "kid", 16 years old, got the 25s.
Back to 25 yards for handicap. Me, 19, Bill, 18, Kid, 23, son 15, other guy, 17. Stunk it up. None of us had shot back of 20 since Oct so we are giving ourselves a pass for week one. I hope my glasses come in before next Thursday.

Four weeks in in the big club and I got a 25, 23.
Home club, 23,24. Then 24, 22.
Hot day, old man, darn floaters.
I used to have a fifty by now. (When I was in my thirties)

Not trap but I shot my first couple of lical USPSA matches since December. Couple of minor surgeries. Weather cancelled more then the usual number of matches so I didn't miss as many as I might have. Hadn't shot at all.
