For whatever reason it is, I greatly enjoy bringing folks to the range if they have even a passing interest in going target shooting/plinking.
The same day I brought my Martini-Henry, Vetterli, and Beaumont-Vitali rifles to the range, I brought my little sister and her boyfriend. Neither of them had really fired guns much in the past few years due to a few various factors, but both were more than willing to have a good day out at the range.
First we have Razi, a great guy who has a great sense of humor. All we could think when this picture was taken was.... "The South will rise again? Yeah, rise this."
Then, of course, mei mei wanted a picture of herself in the same getup, but WITH the silenced Glock 17 she loves so much. She tries to look all mean, but you can see the smile creeping onto her face.
Last is a picture of that silenced G17 in action. She really does love it, even though you can't see over the silencer due to the sights being not quite tall enough. I'm going to have to replace them will tall tritium sights at some point. (she still hits what she aims for, though)
For what it's worth, the three relatively new shooters had the most fun with a Browning .22, a Henry .22, and my Ruger 10/22 - they went through almost a whole bulk pack of Federals in about an hour, choosing a target and all trying to hit it (such as a clay or a plastic bottle)
I don't know where I'm going with this thread. Basically, if you have a chance to bring more folks into target shooting/gun ownership, do so! Most of the time, people have great fun firing whatever you bring to the range, whether it's just 22s or if it's NFA items.
