Going with my best friend and his uncle somewhere down here in southern cali around Cleavland national forest. Taking my dads winchester model 70 in 30-06. My question is what round should i bring for white tail? should i stick with the tried and true 150gr soft point Remington rounds Ive shoot since i was a kid or should i go for a heavier 180grainer?
I also plan on using iron sights for this trip, because Ive had the most practice firing this rifle without optics. I plan on hitting up the range and using some 200 rounds PRVI PARTIZAN 150gr ammo at around 300 yards just to get some practice in. My second question is if i practice using the Partizan ammo will it affect my shot if i switch over to high end ammo like winchester or hornady for the hunt. as long as i keep the weight of the round and the velocity around the same i should be able to hit my mark like i practiced right?
