My Silver Reserve 28ga O/U developed a broken firing pin while Mrs. kb was shooting clays back in Nov. (her favorite shotgun)
I had ordered and received new firing pins and fp springs from Mossberg about 2mos ago. The parts came right away. This morning I took my stock off, drove the pin out that retains the firing pins, drove out one bent and one broken firing pin, replaced the pins and springs, replaced the stock and recoil pad, and done! A quick and easy fix.
I posted this thread in case anyone else has had the same problem, and is thinking of returning their gun for service......it is an easy and cheap fix. Maybe 15-20 minutes. I used a small hammer and small punches, 1/2" socket, long 1/4" drive extension, and 1/4" ratchet handle, phillips screwdriver to remove recoil pad, and a cup of coffee.
