When I applied for my CCW, it took the full 90 days to get. Of course I applied with the masses here in Florida and understood the delay. I convinced a friend to get his CCW and he did all the steps, took the class, and applied. He sent his application out on Tuesday Sept 14th 2010. Anticipating the long wait he didn't look for it in his mailbox. He called me today and told me that when he went to check his mail, It was there. That's a 10 day turn around. 10 DAYS!!

I think the Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services has finally got their act together.

non resident permits were running less than a month last I heard. Much improved. I waited 6 months about a year and a half ago, but I had a record glitch I needed to fix first

Impressive.

It took about sixty days for my initial application in 2001 then about two weeks for my renewal.

I just got my non resident. It took about a month and a half or two months, I did mess up one thing however, and had to resend the application, so that accounts for a delay.

Got printed and filled everything out at the Fort Walton Beach Licensing office.....got it in the mail 6 days later....

Renew in less than 1 week, Have heard even the new ones are flying , the state needs money.

Here's the secret.
1. Get your fingerprints electronically taken and submitted.
2. Send a money order with your application.

Mine took over 9 months. I called to follow up, and found that they had sent it to the wrong address and it had been returned. The lady was able to find it, see that the address on the envelope was incorrect, and got it to me in a couple of days.

Go to a dept of agriculture branch office and apply in person and they'll do the prints electronically until they get them right
