FL non-res .... info

Guys - humble apolagies here cos I know we have covered this before, but a search has not brought up what I was looking for.

I was chatting with Furious Styles on this and he like me has an envelope with some stuff in - that we got a while ago. But are unsure in fact as to what the actual requirements are for documents - how many and which.

I/we have - the fingerprint card, the application form and a multi-sheet instruction deal. Any others?

Could anyone who has gone thru the FL non-res give feedback - so we can make sure what is needed... just a list of each sheet/document/form ...

If I have what I need then it's about time I went ahead and got this thing under way.

The obvious thing you didn't mention you had was proof of training...should be requested in the application form.

Be aware of the fact that in FL CCW records are public info unless you're a LEO, judge, and perhaps a few others - if you're like most people you're going to get junk mail from the "CCW badges" people among others as soon as you have a FL CCW.

Thx rl ....well, the training aspect for myself is taken care of, being a certified NRA instructor in all disciplines, and range safety officer.

Packing.org ... indeed I should have checked there again tho - for some reason I seem to remember doing that before and still being slightly unsure - which is why I decided to check in with folks who have ''been there - done that''.

Isn't Utah CCW license almost as largely accepted as Florida's?

Maybe someone can clear up whether Utah records remain private, in which case, perhaps it's best to avoid the FL CCW publicity.

I think Utah's is probably about as widely accepted as Florida's, but I believe you have to get training from a "Utah certified" trainer, don't you? When I was looking at getting one, I went with Florida because they accepted a lot more different kinds of training.

I believe the difference in these licenses is Utah CCW being accepted in Washington state and not accepted in Pennsylvania, while Florida CCW is the other way around. I am not sure if there are other minute differences in various states that accept "resident" but may or may not accept "non-resident" CCW licenses from either Utah or Florida.

It seems that you are correct regarding the training issue.

does anyone know if being active duty military satisfies the FL training requirement? i'm considering getting a Fl non-resident permit. thanks.
