Flat and Arched MSH vs Glocks

A lot can be discussed about the Flat or Arched MSH on 1911's, some say that the Arched MSH is an improvement, some disagree. Some folks are comfortable with the "angle" of a Glock grip, some says that it doesn't point right. The comment that I will make today is, " The Glock points at about the same angle as the 1911 with an ARCHED MSH. Something to think about! Personally, I believe that after enough practice, it really doesn't make any difference. Everyone doesn't have to have the same "favorite", that is why we have so many to select from. Fact is, my CZ fits my hand better than my 1911's or Glocks!!!!

There's also the new wedge MSH. I Haven't tried it but I can't hardly hold a 1911 steady with a flat MSH much less point well. The thing just want's to twist in my hand and point low left. I need the arched MSH to fill my palm and anchor the back of the gun in line with my natural grip.

Everyone's hands are differant and I know the experiance of many is the opposite of mine. That's one of the nice things about 1911s is you have so many options. It's also one of it's major problems causing fit and function issues with the modfied guns.

The CZ75 and the 1911 with a flat MSH point the same for me and more naturally than any other handguns.

Might be right. Always loved the way Glocks pointed while other folks whined about how they didn't point as good as a 1911. Finally tried a 1911 with rounded housing and sure enough, now feels as good as a Glock to me.

Still a bit different as Glock has lower bore angle but both point well now for me at least.

I don't think the msh really effects grip angle. that is the angle where the grip meets the gun.

I might be wrong but I thought the arched MSH was incorporated because the army thought the flat MSH pointed too low. Not sure, just thought I read that somewhere. I prefer arched myself and the Glock always similar to revolvers. It is similar to my K frames with Pachy grippers on them.

Normally, in a 1911 an arched MSH is combined with a short trigger and the flat MSH with a long trigger. The Glock is probably more like arched MSH and a long trigger--a combination you don't normally see.

One othe reasons so many people like the CZ line of guns maybe the angle of the grip and the arched backstrap!!! For me, it fills the hand better and allows for better control in recoil.

The CZ and the HP are about the best feeling to me. The full size Glock and 1911 with an arched MSH are close though. All my 1911s have had long triggers and arched MSH. I had to add one or the other though.
