I'm leaving tomorrow night for Florida, and I need to know the laws regarding me knive(s). For one thing, I intend to carry a Kershaw Blackout, with a 3.whatever-inch blade, and an assisted opening system. Is this legal to carry concealed?

Also, It's most likely illegal, but just to make sure I'm not missing anything I could take advantage of...

Is it legal to conceal a fixed blade knife over there? Sog Seal pup, 4.75 inches.

One more thing: When bringing a knife on an airline, all you have to do is put it in your checked luggage and declare it, right? Is there anything I'm missing?

Not sure I'd declare it in checked luggage.

Do a search for Levine knife laws on google.

You'll have a pretty good answer and indication of what is and isn't allowed.

Do you have to declare knives now? I thought that was just guns, though I haven't flown in a long time.

You don't have to "declare" knives in luggage they're perfectly legal to carry that way. It is advisable to put any knives in your shave kit. If you don't have a shave kit put it in a something so that it can't come open during a search. You could stuff it in a rolled up sock, in a shoe with a sock in it or anything to prevent it opening and damaging clothing or another person.

The Blackout is fine to carry in FL. You should not carry a fixed blade unless hunting or diving or going to or from. FL has no problems with assisted opening knives. They also don't have any problem with automatic knives, any more, either.

Okay, thanks. So I DO NOT have to declare knives in checked luggage? Are you sure? I'm just being extra safe and making sure I don't do something wrong and make some big bruhaha.

I brought a 14" tanto and a 3.5" folder to Ireland, and back with another 3.5" folder I bought over there tacked on. Didn't declare anything, didn't get called on it. The tanto I put deep down in the bottom side, the folder(s) I put in a shoe. Both ways they weren't moved at all. And that was an international flight. So frankly, I don't think you have a problem regarding the luggage.
