Plaxico was part of a team sport, without this guy, there is no fight, It makes sense that the poster above said it was scheduled for after the bout, he will need time for the swelling to go down after Mayweather knocks him around for 8 or 9 rounds.
I will still say he gets off, some High Powered Commissioner, or Governor is going to make a deal.
Or the casino bosses will fix it somehow, the amount of revenue this draws is too big to allow anything to get in the way of the fight.
I would be very surprised if he didn't get some kind of "House arrest" or "community service'.
A billion bet worldwide plus all the hotels will be full that weekend for this fight, it may be much more than a billion, with "Pay Per view" and "TV" rights.

Mayweather got to hold off his domestic abuse trial until after his fight. This guy will have his hearing after the fight and will then probably plead to a misdemeanor. Too bad, he's a good case, with a clean record apparently.

The companies who make the money are global with tentacles every ware. Comcast, Direct TV, etc., along with people who own those sports books and Casinos. They have the power to move mountains when it comes to an event like this one. NY may not be hosting the fight, but new Yorkers have a vested interest in making sure it happens.
Plus as mentioned this guy is a clean guy who made a technical mistake, not a partying fool who carried a gun into a night club. That one deserved what he got, he endangered the lives of all who were in that club.
Sports books in one race last week, 'horse race" were estimated to have over a billion dollars in action, most of that was out of the US. But the Hotels look forward to 2 or 3 huge Boxing weekends to make their year successful, as the "high rollers" come to town.
The owners of the Hotels in Vegas, also are prominent new Yorkers in many instances. Hotel people, like Trump, the public companies who own the Casinos, on the NYSE, and the like, will make sure this doesn't interfere with their ability to make money.
