FN BHP 10 Round Magazine

All,
I recently picked up a FN High Power that came with 3 10 round magazines. I am unable to load more than 9 rounds in each magazine. The gun shoots fine and the magazines function without issue, however, I can't get more than 9 rounds in the magazines. The magazines have the small holes marked 5 and 10 rounds. With 9 in the magazine the 10 round hole is covered by a cartridge. Any ideas? Thanks.

You need to push harder to get the 10th round in... push a helluva lot harder. The spring is completely compressed when the 10th round is loaded.

I had gotten 3 17 round South African magazines for my Hi-power yesterday. I had to use a loading tool, my hip and the corner of the fridge to get those last 2 rounds in.

Get a few 13 round magazines if you can, they are very easy to load. There's enough space left in the base of the magazine so the spring doesn't completely bottom out when the magazine is fully loaded.

using a 10 round magazine in a high power is like sealing one of the chambers on a 6 shooter.

You're in a red state! Go get some 13 rounders!

Thanks all. I figured I wasn't pushing hard enough. I am not familiar with the HP mags and the metal tab/spring sticking out made me reluctant to push so hard, but I've got it now. Standard capacity mags are on the way.
