Okay, the title is rather misleading. I already have a Glock 22, and I like the way it shoots. I like the way a lot of the glocks shoot. However, I've been looking at the newer FNP .40 (has a stainless slide) and just wondering how good of a gun this really is. I already carry a G22 on duty and know the weapon to be solid. I have one of my own, which feels a bit redundant. I know the FNP is a different configuration and breaks down more like a Sig. And obviously, it is DA/SA with an actual hammer and what not. Does anybody here have any experience with these pistols? Are they very reliable or semi- reliable? The reason why I bring this up is I am going to a different kind of gun for off-duty carry. Yes, I know there is about a bazillion different other choices, even for a full-sized .40, but this is the one that caught my eye and want to know more about it. And I like the idea of a hammer, decocker, manual safety (does it have one?) even though they aren't necessary...it's just something different. Also, how do they act recoil-wise? While not too sensitive to recoil (I qualified with and carried the glock 20, with full-power 10mm loads) I don't particularly want one of those really flippy .40s. My glocks don't have that problem. I appreciate any and all comments, observations, and general information. But I do have to say that I'm focusing on the FNP, not anything else. I know plenty about Sigs, HKs, Glocks, Berettas, Taurus, XDs, etc.
