Anyone own one? I used to occasionally carry a Glock 27 Gen 4. I always liked shooting it, a bit chunky to carry for me, and decided to switch to the 43 whenever I could find one.

Was at Cabela's and they had two FNS compacts, a .40 and a 9mm.

All I can say is that it feels great in the hand and the trigger...better than my stock 27, and 23, and so on.

These are apparently quite new to the market, just curious if anyone happens to have one. Watched Hickok45s review of it, seems to be a solid weapon. I really like how they give you a flush fit mag, a mag with a pinky extension, and a mag for the full sized FNS...thats' cool, especially as their mags seem a little pricey.

Have never owned an FN product before, but am thinking the FNS 9C will be my first although I can't locate any with two tone finish at the moment.

Watched Hickok's review and rented a 9c. Loved the size, grip, capacity and especially the sights. Picked one up a month ago. Out of the box trigger is excellent - no creep and a little less than 6#. 700+ rounds of assorted FMJs & JHPs without a bobble. Carries nicely in a N82 holster. Absolutely love this gun......moving toward replacing my beloved G19 for everyday carry. From a historical perspective, I've had an FNP45 for several years. It has proven to be both reliable and accurate as well. Although I have carry choices, with Sigs, HKs, Glocks & Walthers all available, this seemingly "off brand" pistol just appears to be close to perfect for my needs.

BTW - As I understand it, the duo tone models are not yet available......black only as of now.

A gent I work with has both a full size & compact and considers them keepers after trying out a large portion of the current plastic pistols.

I, too, rented one awhile ago.
My pick of the striker fired pistols is the Ruger SR series.
But the FNS is a close second, not considering price to purchase.
The only problem with both is the lack of after market support, so far.
No doubt both are well made, but only having one source for service and most parts is kind of bothersome.

I had been looking to swap one of my safe queens for a 9/40/45 compact, and looked at more than I can mention. I stumbled across the FNS 9C a week ago at a LGS and bought it on the spot. I love everything about it and every review I read has been positive. I'll be at the range with it this week.

I find it funny when people consider FN to be an "off brand" pistol. Who do you think had been making the (Browning) HiPower since 1935?

I'm intrigued by the FNS-9c. Comes with 3 mags, including an extended one - standard capacity is 12+1, right between my G26 and G19 - feels good in the hand - reasonably priced - renowned (if not as popular as Glock) manufacturer.
I may have one soon.

Decided to get one, think it might even replace my Glock 19 though only for carry, still enjoy shooting it.

Found a deal on gunbroker that seems pretty good.

I recently bought a FNS-9 "full size" and after 500 rounds through it am starting to really like it. The quality is there, and I like the feel of the trigger and the overall fit and finish. As noted, FNH is not new to making pistols -- if you are talking about John Browning designs, the Hi-Power may be the graduate school product compared to the undergrad 1911. FNH has produced over two million weapons for the US military since 1990 at the factory in Columbia, SC. They are very, very good at making quality weapons. And they are learning to do customer service to support civilian sales, from what I can tell on the internet forums.

I tend to carry a J frame, when I carry, but there is for me a role for a somewhat larger, but not full-size, 9mm with a higher round count. Maybe in the truck, or when traveling with a carry bag, etc., and maybe while out hiking or fishing and a belt holster is feasible. That would be the role of the FNS-9C. So I'm looking real hard at getting one... appreciate others' comments here indicating similar opinions.

I just got back from the range and was able to shoot it for the first time. I absolutely love it. The ergonomics of both the grip and trigger fit me perfectly. For a compact gun, the recoil is negligible, even with HST 124 +P's. It was accurate, with most of my shots from 21 feet at a B29 target being in the 9 ring, which for an average shooter (at best) like me is about as good as it gets.

I did have issues with it ejecting Freedomunitions 124 grain RN ammo (new, not remanufactured). I failed to eject every 20 rounds or so, with it happening less the more I shot it. I put about 500 rounds through it. The same ammo worked fine with my LG9S Pro and CZ 75 compact, so it's not the ammo. I shot 50 rounds of HST 124 +P without a problem and another 20 rounds of Hydro Shock 124 grain standard velocity, again without issue. I'm assuming a break in period is required, but will call FNH in the morning to confirm. I did clean it prior to shooting it, and will give it another good cleaning. Once I'm confident in it, it's going to be carried often. I couldn't be happier with it.

Yes, it could be the ammo. Not all guns enjoy the same diet. Doesn't mean it's a bad gun either.

You may be right about the ammo. I'll call their customer service in the morning to get their opinion and will try other ammo before sending it in. I'd be more concerned if it hadn't fed the other ammo without a problem.

FN does seem to fly under the radar despite being a firearms juggernaut. I guess it could be because they make a lot of military guns that no one really realizes are FNs. I only had one FN gun, an FNX45 Tactical, and it was a good sidearm. I too am curious about the FNS Compact but I haven't seen much about it yet.

I spoke with their customer service this morning. I was on hold for less than a minute and the person I spoke to was knowledgable and professional. It's my first time dealing with them, and it was a positive experience. In short, he thinks it was the ammo and requested I try another brand.

I had a chance to get back to the range with it today. I shot about 300 rounds with 5 types of ammo without a single malfunction. I can't say enough about it's accuracy, the way it tames recoil, even with +P ammo as well as the ergonomics. If you're on the fence about getting one, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'm very interested in one of these, but have yet to see one in my area. I'm not opposed to ordering one, but I do prefer to handle a gun, if not shoot it, before buying.

Love the feel of it in my hand, its tough to describe but it feels slightly more secure in my hand than my 27 did... grip is a little straighter perhaps.

Hopefully you'll find one to take a look at. I'm very impressed with it, and the assortment of mags it comes with.

I picked one up at the gun show last weekend and after one range trip, I'll say it's a keeper for sure. The trigger reset has a different feel from a Glock, I think I like it a little better.
Coming with 3 magazines included makes it an even better deal - but it's 3 different mags: 12-round with a pinky extension, 12-round withOUT the pinky extension, and a 17-round mag with a sleeve. Of the 12-rounders, I prefer the one with the extension and I can't help but wonder if any other owners have a preference for the extension-less mag and would want to trade?

It and the Walther PPQ M2 are on my next gun short list! Might look at the Walther in .40...Haven't seen anything but positive feedback on both!
