I just gave my FNP-9 its first REAL workout today since ived owned it. Boy did it impress!

I love this gun!... I "Liked" it before, i LOVE it now. I shot the hell out of it today and it never had 1 problem. And the trigger is lightening up very nicely now.

I put 200rds of Winchester PDX1 hollow points through it without a hiccup and thats what will be loaded in the gun for its defensive duty's.

I just got it for $330 and couldn't be happier!....

I've got an FNP-40 and it is one of my favorite pistols. I own 3 glocks, 3 XD's, 1911's and several others and I would put my FN up against any of them and it is fun to shoot. I don't think you can go wrong with these guns for the price they ask. Highly recommended!

i purchased an FN FNH USG 40 a month ago and shot it for the first time last weekend. Ran a box of 180gr. FMJ through it. It performed flawlessly. I love the thing. What quality at an excellent price.:)

Ok,

This is from another part of your forum:

The FNP comes with a decocker, but unless you get the USG model, you don't get the safety (by an upward move of the decocker).

The FNX automatically comes with both the safety and decocker. However, the FNX has a "funky" magazine catch that requires a sight forward push to engage the catch(the FNP and FNX DO NOT use the same magazines!)

Looking around at prices, you can get an FNX NIB for as little as $499 plus S/H or a USG model of the FNP NIB for $415 plus S/H. ....

Soooo, what is a person to do?

Actually, I am on the "horns of a dilemma" in that I'm torn between one of the FN pistols verses a Beretta PX4 Storm .40 S&W. I already have a 92F so the Storm does have some attraction in that it operates in a very similiar manner, is much lighter to carry than the 92F and the magazines are easier to get ... (!?!?)

On the other hand, the FN's appear to be better from a technical stand point, but probably not from a resell standpoint ...

Pricing is essentially the same !!!

"So many guns, and not enough funds to buy 'em all!"

I got my gun on the Gunbroker.com through Tanner's Sport Center for 399.99 I had to pay 20.00 shipping, plus a 35.00 FFL charge but still 35.00 cheaper that the cheapest place around where I live. Yes mine has the dual purpose decocker/safety. I'm trying to find a holster that has a closed in bottom and some type of restaint to go over the gun to keep it secured. Any ideas?

On FN's website, it looks like they got rid of the "FNX" designation and went back to "FNP". If you look at their website, they've got 2 versions and call the gun an FNP9-17. Didn't they just come out with the FNX designation this year?

BTW, from the feedback I've received, the issue with the magazine catch mentioned above (as well as the play in the backstraps) has been corrected.

That's the FN-Europe website, I think. They don't market the FNX name in Europe. The US website is www.fnhusa.com, it still refers to the pistols as the FNX series.

I just finished going through the FNP-45 I found in the classifieds here. Incredible pistol design. The 4 1/2 " barrel with 6" sight radius, 14+1 capacity! With a set of Tru-Glos she'll be ready to fly. Thanks Joel!

for all of you thinking about buying something besides the FNPs, BUY AMERICAN! My FNP-40 is my nightstand gun with a light. If the bullets don't get you, the light sure will, lol!

I just did the exact same thing from the same place with the same transfer fee and everything. I checked the local shops and called around and the prices were $495 (CDNN) all the way to $599 (Cabelas) for one. Mine hasn't arrived yet though. I gotta say....those guns seem pretty darn good for that kind of money. The trigger pull is surprisingly decent for a polymer framed pistol (I'm a 1911 kind of guy so I'm spoiled). Good mag capacity, interchangeable back straps, 1/2 decent metal sights, comes with 3 mags instead of 2, USG model can be carried C&L if you want, super easy to field strip, made in the USA, lifetime warranty...and for $400. What's not to like? Ok...maybe holster selection but that's about it. We'll have to see how she shoots though. I'm interested....they have me sold on it on paper.

I have both the FNP9 and the FNP 40 USG both are great guns. I did have a little problem. with the 40, In DA I sent it back (They paid next day air, thought that was cool) 2 weeks later i had it back running like a clock. Just bought 500 rounds for both at the gun show and can't wait to get out this weekend.
