Is anybody else as excited as I am for the FNP 45 Tactical?

I've been jonesing for an FNP 45 for about a year now but I'm going to hold out for this with a red dot, wouldn't that be fun?

Anybody know what the MSRP will be?
 
I'll get one if I have to sell the truck to pay for it ! I love my plain-ol'-one, but that one I have to have.....
 
I'm not too keen on "tactical" pistols but I really like the FNP 45 Tactical and would consider adding one to the collection.

It sure looks mean:evil:

I read somewhere the MSRP is around $1200. A little steep for my budget unfortunately.
 
Color in that pic. looks really off when compared to every other photo I have seen of the original "military".Also the Doctor sight is not FDE as it was with the prototype.

1200.00:eek:...600.00=Basic Pistol,+100.00 for the night sights,+100.00 for threaded barrel(bit steap),+100.00 for the machined sight mount and +300.00 for the Doctor red dot...

Hmmmmm...Still a bit over priced but if the color is the FDE of the prototype and the Doctor sight FDE,I'll still be in for two!!:D

Add them to the two FDE USGs I've got already.:)

it only comes in the tan. The sits are raised to cowitness with the red dot.
only comes with the threaded barrel and does not come with site shown.
 
$1200 would be a bit much with the sight. Without is seems really out of line to me.

Comes with two mounting bases for use with optional red dot sights...Custom fitted cordura case...

Lets say...125.00=per base.50.00=cordura case.Instead of the Doctor sight.

Sweet handgun:),to be sure,if it shoots like the other FNP-45s:D but :eek:come on man,the price is about 300.00 high.:rolleyes:

They've got us and know it because so many of us have been giving rave reviews of the FNP-45...
We anoid them because so many of us hounded them to bring the "Military" now "Tactical" into production...

Now we're going to pay for it!:evil:
 
Too big

I wanted a FNP-45 badly. Then I picked one up. Makes a Glock feel like a KelTec. They did have their stuff together with that mount though. Makes me want to drill/tap the slide on my Glocks.
 
The MSRP on the -45 USG is $795, but they don't cost that much. At least mine was closer to $600 early last year.

Too big? You must not have XL hands like me, my -45 USG fits me perfectly. Now the P-32 and the Rohrbaugh feel really tiny and the 1911s feel svelter. Is that a word?

I got tired of waiting on the -45 Tactical and bought a Sig X-5 TAC. Yeah, it's only a 9mm, but it's SAO and came with night sights and a threaded barrel. :)

I saw one of these, minus docter sight, at a local gun store the other day and it really is a cool looking pistol. But yeah since it costs as much as my stg 556 I cant seem to justify it, tho I still really want it.
 
Sorry to resurrect, but does anyone have more hands-on experience with this one? I'd like some other opinions (especially from anyone who has shot their extensively) but here is my take.

I shot my buddy's this past weekend and it was flat out awesome. I used to think it was kind of hokie, but recoil was easily controlled, ergonomics are excellent and fit and finish were very good. Accuracy was well above average, and the sights, which I thought might be strange to use since they are so tall, are really excellent. Green front/orange rear tritium... it was done right. I looked at getting one of my Glocks milled out for a red dot, but this gun meets or beats a Glock re-hash on price and has quite a few features the Glock doesn't. I only got to put twenty rounds out, but it is at the top of my "shall purchase" list.
 
For less than $1K you can get a new HK USP Tactical .45. No it doesn't have a holo site, but c'mon.
 
I'm waiting for the Tactical in black, for that price I won't take a color I don't really like. Looking to put a Trijicon RMR reflex sight on it -- red dot goodness but no batteries required, gotta love everything but the price.

It looks like Impact Guns, which always has guns at a higher price than I can find them elsewhere, has the tactical for $945 which is more reasonable than $1200 for what you are getting.

That said for less than an HK USP or the FN one can have a glock with a threaded barrel and have the slide milled so you can run a red dot.
 
Mill slide: $200
Co-Witness sights: $50
Threaded Barrel: $110

$360+ gun cost (call it $500)= $860. Add an extra mag ($20), the soft case ($60) and slide refinishing ($80-100) and you are looking at an equivalent package for $1020. You can get P45 Tactical for well under $1000 shipped from CDNN, and there is definitely something to be said for having a factory gun rather than a pieced-together aftermarket job. I love Glocks, but I did the math and the FN just comes out on top.
 
You could always put a new paint job on your 1911. Old an busted, or the new hotness??
