BEEN LOOKING AT A"DA/SA" OR A "SAO" FNP-9. any users , PLEASE advise on this gun. Will use for a carry + punching holes in paper. Thanks for your time !

Good gun. It used to be a killer value back when you could get them for $350 OTD with 3 mags and the shooters pack.

The trigger in DA is a bit stiff but it was always a solid performer for me.

It is a great gun and a good value as well. I do believe mine is more accurate than the operator and fun to shoot.

It would do well as a sidearm but I think it is too big for CC. You might be able to take a dremel tool to the magazine base plate and make it a little easier to CC.

I have one. VERY accurate, highly reliable, with fine ergonomics. Points the same as my CZ for me. Nearly as accurate as my CZ as well, which is set up for target, with a competition hammer, and light pull SA trigger. The FNP-9 does very well compared to it.

I say go for it. True, it is a bit too large (wide) for conceal carry, unless you wear a jacket, or extra baggy shirts.

Have one in SAO. Trigger handles like a 1911 with the benefit of a high cap mag holding 16 rounds of 9mm. Has become my tactical training pistol whenever I desire high cap capabilities.
Never had any malfunction whatsoever.
I originally had a DA/SA when they first came out and considering the price and quality considered that pistol a poor man's Sig.
In any case I am highly pleased with it.
I often trade out of pistols, this is a keeper for me.
Only complaint which really is not a complaint BUT... wished the holster selection was better. For some reason my pistol has not fit Sig 226 or XD holsters often suggested as fitting the FNP.

I love my FNP-40 SAO. It is a little heavy for every day carry in the summer( that's why I got the CZ) Very good shooter, points naturally, Nice trigger.
BTW I got a good price on mine- $500 NIB:what: Just couldn't pass that up!:p

FNP-9 mag springs ?

Thanks to all who posted, my only question of concerned is I seem a few post of about a 1 yr. old where people where having issued with the mag springs going weak on them ??? Did the factory address this ?

I've always wondered about the decocker/safety lever. It looks rather thin and flimsy.
