What do you guys carry? I'm still looking at a Sig 239 or Kahr K9 but I'm also thinking about maybe a little bigger gun, i'm just worried about comfort with a large gun tucked in the front of my pants (where i prefer to carry). It would be nice to carry something in .45ACP.

I've got a Sig239 and it's a nice carry gun. But I ended upcarrying my Kel-Tec P11 about 90% of the time. I've got a High Noon Hidden Impact that is a tuckable with a clip. I can slide in on without any trouble belt or no belt. I can untuck, slide it on, and re-tuck in just a second. I usually carry the KelTec in the holster zipped up in a gun rug. When I leave work for lunch I can just slip it on.

Don't carry there. Awkward draw angle.

The Milt Sparts Versa Max 2 is nice. A 3" 1911 feels like carrying nothing at all.

Right side, 3 oclock. a 1911with thin grips disappears under a tshirt.

I carry a CZ 75 P-01 in this IWB holster by HBE Leatherworks. I carry it about about 3:30 though. In the front might be alittle uncomfortable when sitting.

Full size 1911 IWB strongside. 3:30-ish or so. The only concealment issue I'm working on is that the magwell I added hurts my ability to hide it. Other than that, I think the 5" thin 1911 is far more comfortable than my old Glock 29 (thicker, short bbl makes it feel like it wanted to squeeze itself out the top of my pants).

H&K USP40 compact at about 3 o'clock. It's thicker than my 1911 but it is so much lighter. Printing is minor. The 1911 just disappears under a button-up shirt.

1991a1 compact Colt in a Comptac C-Tac right around 4 o'clock or so-any other earlier position either prints too much or is simply uncomfortable due to my body shape (6' 240lbs). I mostly wear button-up, even cut bottom shirts.

It's okay in comfort, but the checkered grip is rubbing and chafing my skin a bit, so I'm looking to mod the holster ( ala a poor man's Tucker Answer) and/or add smooth grips to compensate.

I have little doubt that a Government sized pistol could be concealed equally.

(I also have a 5" belly band for shorts use as well, as well as a fanny pack, with the latter getting more use than the former.)

Come fall/winter, things should be much easier to conceal.

bone-stock Springfield GI .45 currently in a cheapie leather clip IWB holster at about 4 o'clock. I'm 5' 11" and 245lbs. no problems concealing, even under just a t-shirt. I don't buy oversized t-shirts, either.

i carry a kimber tle, with either a tuckable or untuckable holster.
the tuckable is from high noon, works great, the gun rides really low and its ideal for carrying 2:30-4:00.
the untuckable is from rafters gunleather, very nice for 3:00. rides higher though.

I'm still looking at a Sig 239 or Kahr K9
Both guns are nice, but frankly Kahr makes the best CCW guns (at least from a carrying standpoint) ... if you want a .45 you could look at the Kahr K40 instead of K9 ... not quite .45, but still a little more potent then 9mm.

I used to carry a Kahr MK40 Elite98 that I'm constantly whining about selling ... it was an excellent carry gun.

I carry my Steyr S40 at 3 o'clock on my right side (I'm right handed) I used to carry at 4 o'clock but I get better concealment at 3 o'clock and I can still draw while in the car if I have to.

I have a holster that used to be an OWB pancake holster, but I converted it to IWB with a couple of belt clips.

I like the dual clip type holster like the Milt Sparks Versa Max or Watch 6 or even better yet the HBE Leatherworks COM2 like the one pictured above (I believe Eric makes a tuckable version so thats a bit of added versatility). The two clips or loops in front of and behind the gun hold the gun more securely then a single clip, and they don't add to the thickness of the gun like a single clip does.

Generally, a Kahr P9 Covert in a Sparks VM2 at 4 o'clock. In bulky clothes weather (which is not that often) I'll do my HK USPC9 the same way, but it's usually the Kahr.

Well my main reason for getting a new gun is because I wanted a smaller gun but if I could conceal my 226 maybe I'll just carry that, its a great gun. Geez all these decisions :p

Actually I think if I was going to carry my 226 I'd see if I could get a 245 instead, i dont like .40.

I'll echo what most others have said. I carry a 3" 1911 at about 3' o'clock using a Milt Sparks Watch Six. For IWB carry a comfortable holster is of the utmost importance. I also like a holster that has the belt loops spaced out like the Watch Six, Vera-Max, Max-Con IV, etc. It just feels slimmer to me versus one with the loops 'on top of the gun'. I try to always wear a plain white undershirt too, leather on skin gets annoying after a few hours. Lastly by all means use a quality belt, it can truly make a difference.

I'll admit I haven't looked at any IWB holsters and the only one I've seen is just one that clips onto the waistband of pants, shorts, whatever. Doesn't use a belt at all. Do most of them require the use of a belt?

IWB...

S&W SW99 Compact(.40S&W) is what I've been carrying lately. J-frame (m36) before that. I use Uncle Mikes IWB holsters. I usually forget they are there.

Springfield XD9 subcompact in a comp-tac shirttucker, always at either 3 or 3:30 on my hip.

I wear a white undershirt, and usually a light patterned button-downs short sleaved shirt, and it disapears.

Usually a Browning Hi Power in 40 S&W , sometimes with a tuckable polymer holster, sometimes leather when I'm wearing my shirt out. Sometimes a Tanfoglio full size 9mm, ocassionally a Bersa 380. I wear it about 2-2:30 when out and about, if I'm driving my TransAm I have to move it to about 3:30 or I get stuck.

Meant to add Joey, most of them work better with a belt even though it looks like you can just clip them on your pants. I normally wear the widest belt that fits the pants to help maintain control of the pistol. I find if I try to just clip on the pants the holster moves around a lot.

A Kahr K9 in a Milt Sparks Watch Six at 3:30 strong side iwb is quite comfortable and concealable. More comfy than glock 17 or 26.

I have recently gone back to the 1911. The thinner slide is way more comfortable. With a 5" barrel, the slide hits my chair when seated. 4" is best. 3.5" is too short ballistically and not necessary for iwb. An officer frame is a little more concealable than a full size frame. The best for iwb imho is a commander slide on an officer frame -- kinda hard to find.

At 3:30 strong side with a radical cant (helps reduce printing from the grip), even a full size 1911 is easily concealed with an untucked shirt (I am 5'9" 185lb). Also, to carry for brief periods, I don't need a holster with the 1911.

I strongly agree with SnakeEater's comments regarding belt loop spacing on watch six and similar models (makes the package thinner) and a good belt.
