Any thoughts on a preference for a Sig P239/9mm or a Kahr K9 for IWB carry? Thanks.

Well, I have carried an all-steel Kahr for a couple of years and have no complaints. I like it for the compactness, if thats a word, of it. And it only has the slide-stop lever on it, instead of the de-cocker and slide-stop of the Sig. Actually you can't go wrong with either pistol.

I've owned both. I couldn't shoot the P239 as accurately as I could the K9, so the K9 became a CCW pistol and the P239 eventually got traded. I'd try to shoot them both and then get the one you like better.

Agreed. I carry a 239 from time to time. It's an excellent little gun. I've shot a few Kahrs. They are excellent little guns. Try to shoot both, and buy the one that feels better and shoots better for you.

I have found the P239 is more accurate and in single action the trigger is more smooth. The first shoot is double action. The gun is thick (Bulky).
The K9 is very slim and has a good dao trigger and weighs less than the P239.
For carry purposes, it is the better choice as it conceals very well.

They both carry carry 7 rounds. Either one is a very good choice and if you want smaller, check out the Kahr PM9 or MK9.

Well.....you cant go wrong with either one. The Kahr will carry better as its a smaller/thinner gun. Thats just a given. The Sig is pretty thick for what it is.....but its a Sig and thats just the way they are..unless you have a 230*232.
Get a dual loop IWB holster like a VM2/Com 3 and a Kahr and you will forget you have a gun on..........
Shoot well.

Thanks for the responses. I'm set on the HBE Com3, but still unsure which gun. I already have a PM9 so maybe the P239 just to mix things up, although I really like that K9. The P239 is a different animal with Hogue grips, by the way.

Sig P239 is a great universal CCW weapon. I carry IWB in warm weather and OWB in cool/cold jacket weather.

I have a 239 and Kahr PM9. Since I got the Kahr, the 239 sits in the safe. I use a Don Hume IWB holster and forget it is there. Also a great pocket carry piece.

I think that I should have added that the P239 I carry (pictured above) is .40 S&W (and can also be converted to .357 Sig). I personally prefer the .40 S&W (and .357 Sig) round over the 9mm and am willing to except the trade off the additional size size of the P239 to have this round. However, I have held the Kahr and find it a very nice gun as well. If I was restricted to only 9mm ammo I could realistically see myself choosing the smaller PM9 over the P239.

Also, if size is your number one concern you can also consider the notorious Kel Tech P11 or perhaps the Colt Pocket nine or the Rohrbaugh R9 (last 2 both pictured bellow):

I wish I could remember the name of it. But the carry option P239. All dehorned and slimmed down, fancy wood grips and it has the light touch double action only on it.
NICE!
I want one
feels a lot more solid than the Kahr.
The Kahr is small though.

K9 is OK, but I found some things I didn't like about it and eventually sold it:

* It's somewhat heavy for its cartridge/capacity.
* The slide lock is poorly designed in that it's sharp, protrudes a lot ruining the slim width, and is angled the wrong direction for me.
* Using reloads will cause a trip to the gunsmith.
* Disassembly seems harder than it should be.
* The trigger is glock like, in that it's not double action only.

If you're going to get the 239, I'd recommend .40 or .357. It seems too big/heavy for a 9.
