I'm just curious....

Of those who carry a full-sized NON-1911 pistol everyday (or almost everyday), how many of you are:

1) non-military and non-LEO civilian (were never military or LEO),

2) military (prior enlisted/officer or currently serving enlisted/officer)

3) LEO (prior or current, also includes non-LEO armed government/state/county/city/other agents. Does not include privately owned/corporate armed security.)

4) military and LEO (prior or current).

Thanks,
Easy

I'm non-military, non-LEO. Just a regular, spry graphic artist, when I'm not at work I usually switch out my RAMI for one of three guns. I often 'casual' carry and open carry (about 50/50 split, casual carry meaning the gun is concealed under an unzipped layer, and has a good chance of being spotted by anyone attentive.)

One of three 'full size' carried guns pictured below.

Is a SIG P229 full-sized? I think so; as it is chunkier than a 1911, as tall as a Glock G22, and is less comfortable and harder for me to conceal than a 5" 1911, in identical holsters from the same custom maker. (Josh Bulman FDS) With a magazine in place, a P229 is virtually as tall as a P226, because of the latter pistol's flatter magazine floorplate.

If a P229 qualifies, then I am an LEO/peace officer, with emphasis on the latter, who carries a full-sized pistol, concealed, on my own time, virtually every day.

i think you might have to define full sized. if you mean with a 5" barrel, i don't think any of the guns so far qualify.

i'm retired LEO (cat 3) and i used to carry either a Sig 220/226 or Beretta 92/96 while off duty...sometimes i would go down to a compact Sig 228 or Glock 19

Prior service US Army. Carry a Sig 226 9mm w/ extra mag everywhere I go. Any place I walk into, I want to have the chance to walk out of.

Dang, I fit three of the deal breakers. I am former mil, carry a full size 1911, and am sort of former LEO.

I'm neither LE or military and never have been (although I do want to become a cop in the near future) and my carry weapon switches between a Glock 22 and Beretta 92fs. I usually carry the Glock because it's lighter and I get just as many rounds in a more potent caliber, but sometimes I'm in a Beretta mood.

Category #1 and carry a 1911 dailly in a Blackhawk Serpa OWB. I carried IWB for years but found this to be much more comfortable. It's funny, I didn't think the IWB was uncomfortable until I switched.

Sorry, just noticed the NON 1911. Had my mind on what's for dinner.

Sig P226 .40S&W in Miami Vice Galco shoulder rig, when I wear a jacket. But with a pull over or summer carry, no to the full size and I carry a CZ PCR compact. I never carry a sub-compact or pocket pistol, too short to shoot worth a s--t. I have a friend the shoulder carries a Taurus Judge with the 3" chamber!

Simply not marketed as a "compact" or "subcompact" pistol.

Ex-Army, non LEO

Carry either my full sized Witness Stock in .40S&W or my CZ SP-01 9mm in a simple OWB belt slide holster ($15 shipped) in the winter.

I am in category #4, former military and current LEO.

I normally carry a Glock 21SF, But I have been experimenting with carrying a Glock 17 here recently.

Neither .mil, or LEO.

Sometimes carry my M&P9. In fact, I'm about to step out, and the M&P is coming with me.

#2 Army

I didn't and don't carry a full size "every" day. It's not possible for me to do so because of varying reasons.

I was carrying my XD .45 Service until I sold it. Now I choose between my XD 9mm Service, my XD .40 SC or my Ruger LCP depending on my mode of dress and destination.

I'm going shopping Sat. Who knows, I may end up with something else to add to the rotation?
