I was proceeded and picked up a handgun from my FFL last Thursday, what is the first day I can go pickup another handgun from the same FFL which wouldn't require form 3310.4 "Report of Multiple Sales"?

1. This form is to be used by licensees to report all transactions in which an unlicensed person acquired two or more pistols or revolvers or any combination of pistols or revolvers totaling two or more at one time or during five consecutive business days.

According to the instructions above, I believe that day would be Thursday of this week.

Like everything else involving the ATF, a "business day" may or may not mean what you think it does. For us, it literally means days that we are open for business.

So, if I were only open two days a week, then five of my business days could theoretically span three weeks.

For the sake of our newer members here, this only applies to handguns from the same FFL within the specified time period. If the customer buys a handgun from dealer A and then goes to dealer B and buys another handgun on the same day, the multiple sale report would not apply.

Is the multiple long gun reporting requirement,... a Federal law... in Arizona, New Mexico, California and Texas? Or was that shot down...pun intended...
