Form 4 signature?

Ok so I see many people who have suppressors and then I see that some people have CLEO's refuse to sign their form 4's. How hard is it to get one signed? I'm mainly interested in the difficulty of getting one signed in Texas because I am wanting to get started in the NFA game

Where in Texas? Some places, Ft Worth where I am for example, sign if you ask with no delays.

Some places, Dallas I understand, they won't generally.

Hit and miss. Keep in mind there is a long list of those who can sign, it's on the form. So, if one won't you can keep going down the list and hope for the best.

Failing that, it's trust time.

I'm in the Galveston county area. I haven't looked through the form, I'm just getting a few questions asked here first because it seems like a great place to start.

I did just look through the form and it confused the heck outta me...who do y'all start out asking?

Chief of Police if you live in town, Sheriff next. I've never had to go beyond those luckily.

I would call a few NFA dealers close to you and simply ask them if they have had customers get signoffs in your area and if so, who is signing.
