I found a used but in very good condition std Walnut stock M1A Scout on consignment for $1400, no GI parts, std weight barrel, front NM sight, rear military peep sight, with installed bipod stud, good rifling.

Wonder if it would be a good buy at the current time.

I know that used STD M1A went for $1250 - 1350 three years ago in Tennessee, and now, given the gun buying frenzy, how much would a used Scout in good condition to be worth (new ones are like $1850 to $2000)? The newed SOCOM are about $1500 - $1600.

I know that M1As are virtually out of stock a few months, but in light of the new AWB proposal in congress which did not specifically include M1A on the list, I wonder if the price would go down a bit.

So is $1400 still a good price now?

That is my belief. The M1A is legal pretty much as is (sans bayonet lug) in all ban states, even in CA with a compensator.

It is probably an OK price at the present. Even last year at this time used Scouts in excellent condition with no USGI parts were going for $1000-$1100 so it is not too crazy.

I couldn't really find any used M1A scout for less than $1400, even on gunbroker.com. Per my friends in other states, they are are completely out of M1As.

From Budsgunshop.com

My name is Marty, I kind of work at Buds. We bought a estate out and it had a couple of M1A's in it.Give us a call at our new store at 859-368-0419 and we will help you with our current inventory. Or email Gurney. Sometimes right now just finding the gun you want is the hard part, so if you find it buy it or you might not find one. Not trying to get your buisness with a pressure sale just saying the one you found already might be the gun for you.
