I was looking around for some cut-out window gun/manufacturer stickers for my stuff and found this site, thought you might enjoy:

www.stkrs.com

Prices are reasonable, too.

I am not that interested in advertising the fact that I may have guns. I don't want any shady characters following me home to see when I might or might not be there and have them do a little shopping at my expense.

Not many, I would guess! Get 'em while you can I suppose!

As far as placement, I'm putting a few on things around my house, but not on my car.

Paying to advertise, and letting the general public know you own guns!? Thats not for me.

I wonder how many of those are authorized by the trademark holders?

I'd doubt many of the copyright holders give a damn. Free advertising. People displaying these is pretty much an endorsement of the product. The more the better, eh?

And it's not like a $4 sticker is going to dent their P&L statement.

Typically people with these screen printing/embroidery, etc places have to buy the logos, so more than likely royalties are taken care of.

Probably most of them. A lot of times when you buy the vinyl cutting software it has default logos from companies in it that are licensed, you in turn pay your part when you buy the usually rediculously priced vinyl cutting software.

A buddy of mine cuts vinyl and he's got a ton of corporate logos from the software, but it's an older version and the only gun related one I remember being in there is the deer head from Browning(?).

I have an NRA sticker on the back window of my truck but have been thinking about taking it off for the very reason some have stated here. I'm beginning to be more concerned about someone casing me for firearms theft than publicly supporting the 2A cause.

A sad trade-off, but these are the times we live in. :cuss:

I'm sorry, but the last thing I want on my car window is a gun maker logo advertising that I possibly could have a weapon in my locked car. Not to mention that I don't want to advertise for that company if their not paying me for it.

Problem there is that Trademarks have to be defended. If an "infringer" can show that the owner of the trademark has not defended it, it can be rendered void.

I have a bunch of gun stickers on my laptop. But I agree about car and home windows being adverts for criminals.

However, not wanting to display a brand solely because "the company doesn't pay you" is just spiteful, and in my opinion, silly.

This is true. I stand corrected.

As someone who is "in the business," I'll guess that very few of them are legitimate. Most of the companies don't want their stuff all over the place like that, and most of them would also prefer to be the folks' selling it, should it get actually sold.

Notice I don't have stuff like that on my site. I can do it. It's easy. You can grab the logos off of several unauthorized internet sites. It's just not right.

I'd like to see some facts on that.

Right now, everyone is assuming that putting firearm sticker on your car is an open door to "Come & Get it!!!"

I just don't believe it. Too many old wive's tales going on here at THR.

Good point . . . maybe I'll put a couple "Radioactive Material" and "Infectious Biological Waste" stickers on my Jeep . . . and add a small green courtesy light inside that creates a diffused glow . . . probably cut-down on door-jobs, too!

That's just awesome. :D

I like them. I dont know about you but my tool box and maybe even a couple on the side of my gun safe may look pretty good.

I'm sorry, there is no one out there that has put out stats on this. It is common sense, and the same with homes but reversed. A thief is less likely to rob a house with one of those little "Protected by Brinks" signs on your front grass then a house without it. I'm pretty sure you can find some stats on that, as it is like the same thing as the stickers.
