well just an update with my new savage axis I got last Thursday! I loaded up three shots at four groups of three and using four different powders I found using sierra part# 1540. these are 100gr sp flat base and I loaded out of the sierra edition v 2nd printing pg,307 I started in the middle at 2700fps and loaded three with reloader 22 at 40.9gr three with reloader 19 at 39.9gr three with win 760 at 37.6gr and three with imr 4064 at 33.5gr and so using orange paste on targets and at 25yrds range I was appaled to see that shootin these three shot groups at four groups total I found the win 760 printed the three shots at a super tight group! whereas the reloader 19 and imr 4064 they looked identical as far as the three shot groups went! but the reloader 22 didn't print as good a group overall! so looks like the win 760 is clearly the winner and being I use this in my 30-30 loading this will be great one powder for two different guns, loads etc! so I wonder if anyone else uses win 760 in there 243 loads and how you like it? thanks! :)

Many years ago (over 40) I bought a little hand and mallet Lee Target Loader in .243. It came with a measuring spoon for Win. 760. So I bought a lb. I loaded my first 20 with that kit.....and went out to the range with my Rem. Mohawk 600 which I bought new for a whole $105, and shot a one-holer with the first 3 shots.....and a tiny cloverleaf with 5 at 100 yds. So yeah, I've been a fan for years. Did I always have that good a experience? No....I bought a Rock Chucker....and settled for 1" groups.......too impatient to whack all my reloads together that way.;) Good powder. Too bad Lee quit making those accurate straight line target tools......surely somebody out there is patient enough to use them.

I LOVE WW760/H414 in .243. It and H4350 print nearly one hole groups at 100 yards for me, using Sierra 75 grain HP's, and other bullets. Super accurate with 55 grain BT's too, pushed to over 4000 fps, and is still just a touch from being compressed. Crows look like a black puff of smoke on impact. I find mag primers a must with WW760/H414, to stop fliers FWIW. Of course these ball propellants meter incredibly well, which is just icing on the cake.

funny you say that on the primers as I forgot to mention I am using cci large rifle mag primers with the 760win powder even tho its not listed to use in my sierra reloading manual! I really like it better with the mag primers! :)

You really need to shoot a larger sample size to draw a definitive conclusion. I would shoot 10 of each at 100 yards and then work on the best one from there.
