Hope this is the right area to post this. If not, mods, do as you will.

Just got my latest issue of American Rifleman. On page 20 is an offer for any active duty military to get a free 1yr membership to the NRA.

The link for this is:

http://www.nra.org/supportourtroops

Good way to increase membership & a good deal for the troops.
Pass it on.

It was with real pride and pleasure that I read the same ad today in my copy of American Rifleman.

And did you see the letter from the president talking about getting their message out to a broader audience via the World Wide Web? It seems like a great idea to have editorials and articles hosted on some pretty major news/discussion sites (edited to add) www.worldnetdaily.com and www.townhall.com .

After all these years ( I got out in '75 ), I still have two friends on active duty. I sent them this link, and both joined. I asked that they pass the message to as many of their friends on actuve duty as possible. This alone wouldn't do it, but it would sure be nice to see a 5 million member NRA by the time the '08 elections come around.

I heard on a podcast of Tom Gresham's Guntalk that this was available, I was sure that it had been discussed in here, so I USED THE SEARCH FUNCTION and found this thread. My membership is on the way, and I strongly encourage ALL active military members who are not yet members to do the same.

Well i will probably go life membership before i go active duty. Since i am doing ROTC it will be four years before i go active and i plan to become a life member before then.

I will take them up on it but my boys will still be paying members regardless.

+1. I respect the NRA and their desire to serve the good folks serving in the Armed Forces. I respect them enough that I don't want any membership discounts from them, either. I'm glad to support them regardless.

Sounds like to me the NRA is on a membership drive to recoup the thousands of members they lost, or will soon lose when their memberships expires, due to their sponsorship of the anti-gun bill HR 2640.

My NRA membership expires on September, 2007, and I won't be renewing it. Count me as an active member of GOA.

Good. I have to rejoin the NRA for the local range, but I don't want the traitors to get any of my money.

GOA, JPFO baby!

Nomad wait until you move out of your parents house, graduate college, and begin your service. The reason is the NRA gives a HUGE discount to Vets and you will be one soon enough :D

Thanks Tuckerdog! I have been contemplating joining for quite some time, what better way than free! I appreciate the link and the info, good job lookin out for us!

Just found this post as I was searching through stuff. Thought I'd get it a bump for any active duty that hadn't seen it and wanted to take advantage. I just did, and the link at the top still works.

Also, I did a search(which is how I found this one) looking for a post where someone had mentioned a discounted life membership rate for Military. I can't find that post, but I'm wondering if that was a limited time promotion they were doing, or if anyone has any more info on that? Thanks guys.

I rejoined last year after getting my CCW. Even though I am Active Duty, I know that my paid membership helps fight to keep our 2nd Amendment rights.

I will be sending this link to other Active Duty to encourage them to join.

Thanks!

Great, NOW they offer free memberships now that I'm out.

Do veterans get a discount or anything?
