But when it comes to revolvers, the .357 Magnum and the .38 Special are at the very top of ammo production.

It's still a "win" for the Ruger.

The .357 and .38 are ABSOLUTELY POPULAR, and no doubt will remain so in the foreseeable future.
 
Yep. And rounds like the .45 ACP, .38 Special, .357, 9mm and .40 S&W will continue to be available in the future. Rounds like the rimmed 9mm for revolvers, the .45 Auto Rim and so on will be rare.
