Front sight sizing

Many/most front sights on those old guns were nominally 3/8" wide dovetails. They are not exactly 3/8" as you can see from your sight's dimensions. Was the existing sight tall enough? If not, how much too short? What brand/model is the gun? Have you checked Numrich (aka www.gunpartscorp.com) for parts for your gun? Have you checked Brownell's or Midway?

Most of what I've found is 10/22 and looks like it should work with a little fitting.

The problem is that it's been snapped off at the top of the sight and I have no idea how much is missing.

It goes on a Mossberg 340 kb. I got it for cheap and it has a few issues but nothing major, honestly this and another magazine are about all I need to do to it. I'm half tempted to get a scope for it but want to make sure that it has iron sights first.

Edit to add. The magazine with it works fine I just want a spare, and I'll probably order an inexpensive 3/8 front post and hopefully file to fit.

You can pretty much get which ever style you want. Main thing is the dovetail width be on or more then fit. Some wider seems best to me so a bit of narrowing can be done to make it easier to start then trim it to fit barrel width after sight in. The height typically a tad taller then the rear sight at lowest setting.

Hey thanks, I looked but couldn't figure out how to get something specific every search I tried ended up with like the whole stock of every sight they had from machine guns to high standards.

Just search by manufacturer name, then the model number under the manufacturer. A list of parts for the specific gun will show up when you click on the model number/name.
