Interesting story I read about a duck hunter who had his gun freeze up. He was able to unload the magazine but couldn't get the action open to eject the shell in the chamber. He decides to fire the gun to get it out. The trigger pulled, the sear released, but the firing pin was frozen.
He had a gun that was going to fire at some point when the firing pin either thawed or something jarred it loose. And he had no idea when that was going to happen. I don't recall the outcome. That could happen with any type of gun.
Heck, I had a 870 freeze up at sporting clays one time. It still functioned but it was a struggle. It was almost as aggravating as the snow going down my neck.
