First off, Happy New Year to all. Hope your holiday was memorable. Mine was! Fantastic vacation, oh, ummmm.... back on Topic.
After much anticipation, got to take the Nice New Px4 out for a test drive at RangeMaster in Memphis, TN. Me, the Wifey, my Brother, and his Wifey took six pistols and 600 rounds out for a good time. Amongst the attendees were: Beretta 92FS Inox, Beretta Px4 Storm 9mm, Kahr K9, Springfield XD9, Springfield GI 1911, and a nice S&W 65 2.5" to top it off. What a great couple of hours!
We had four 9mm's, so the bulk of the ammo was that (about 350 rds). We had another 150 rds. of .45 since I'd never shot a 1911, and thanks to that experience I'll be having one on my Next Gun Purchase. We also had a box of .38's and a box of .357 Mag's for the 65. NOTE: If someone ever suggests mixing those two in the cylinder of a 2.5 Smith, BE READY. I'd never shot .357 before, either, so it was a surprise to say the least (especially after the first round was a .38). Magnum rounds go BOOM real loud
Main thing for me was the Px4. I'd been waiting for that thing for far too long, so it was a welcome feeling to have to CRAM those last two rounds (of 17) into the magazines. It always felt like it was made for my hand, but after that first mag was empty, I was convinced that the Beretta elves snuck into my brain and custom made me a pistol. I LOVE my 92, and I was more accurate with the Storm than any other handgun I've shot. Life is good.
Icing on the cake is bringing home a vintage CZ-52 without paying for it. Time to update my sig line!
PS- I know, I know. NO PICS. I had enough this year for a pistol, not a camera! I'll borrow one tonight and get some up here soon.
