I also ebb & flow with gun interests.I am not a hunter, but have decided to shoot a pig.(I live in Texas.)One of the guys I go to church with gave me some sausage ,(wild pig ) and I COULD NOT BELIEVE how good it was.Maybe a hunt is in order.

Alternately-you might try some "discount" purchases.Norinco 45,FEG Hi power,Star M Series,Makarov,Savage etc.

I'm with Preacherman. The world is full of fine, older guns that were built when quality was king. Many of these are frequently overlooked by the current crop of buyers who can't, or don't, see beyond stainless, poly-whaterver, and large magazine capacities. Don't like the quality of new Smith & Wesson's? Take a copy of Jim March's checklist and go look at some older ones. Have a soft-spot for a unique custom piece that is all you're own? Buy a good used basic gun and have it worked over. If they're problems they'll go away during the overhall.

Oh, and while you're at it spend some of that money on some reference books. What you learn may save a lot of bucks in the long run.

Send me all of the Guns you now have and then you will be able to start over and get a whole nother sort of needs....... Or at least send one of your guns to everyone who answered the thread. I am willing to Share.

Try a different Caliber or style of gun Say a 44 spec in a Colt SAA?????

I had that earlier this year, had almost $2000 in my fun account.
Absolutely nothing called out to me.
Thankfully, I was rescued by Brian Enos, and purchased a new dillon press, and all the assorted toys.
Then, I saw that marlin released the .41 carbine again, so I just HAD to get one of those.
Then a SIG 228 and 229, and some magazines.
Then a mass order of reloading dies, conversion kits, bullets, supplies, powder, etc.
***Whew***

Poop! I'm broke again. ;)

I'd nix the Alchemy. Col Cooper sent his samples back being they would not fire. Fell apart at the Gunsite range. Gunsmithy Staff mentioned this.

Go take some training classes?

A nice .22 revolver, a PM9, a browning HP, an 8-round 6" S&W .357, a Glock 19, a SAR-1, and a clean Remington 870 police are on my wish list at the moment.

Blue,
Take part - - go to the toy store - - by some toys
Come December,
drop em off at the USMC toys for tots.

Fun as shooting?

Yeah, in a different way.

Blueduck, you must be joking. Nothing interests you? Try these out for size:

Classic: Radom, BHP, Luger, Broomhandle Mauser, Webley revolver, P-38/P1, Colt SAA

Weird: Benelli B76, Llama M82, Steyr GB, HK P9S, Walther P5, Bernadelli P-One, S&W 540(?) 9mm revolver, Mateba Autorevolver, Desert Eagle, Spectre, T/C Contender, or a suppresor

Sexy/spendy: Sig P210, HK P7, STI/Baer/Clark 1911 (in 10mm, even), Walther P88

Cheap: FEG Hipower, Rap 401, Makarov, used S&W Model 10

Boring: Glock

If none of that raises an eyebrow, you have no blood in you.

For something exotic, C&S Metall-Werkes here in St. Louis has a few FN FiveseveN pistols for $1200. They bought 20 from the Highway Patrol(!) and have 7 left as of ten minutes ago. They will have 10-rd. mags available soon.

Buy one and have them give me the 20-rd. mags to hold. I'll send 'em to you if the law changes.

Just an idea. I think the 5.7 is kind of cool, and they're not easy to find.

Baahhaaahaahaa.... I'll put on my best Mr. Hayney voice and say, step right over here pardner. I've got a wonderful Kahr K9 the represents the very height of quality in that esteemed company's craftsmanship. Just come on down to the handguns for sale forum and you'll find yerself a purty keen deal on a fine weapon that you and the misses shouldn't be without. in lowered voice Why, it'll part the hair on a fly and I really shouldn't part with her but for you I think I can work a deal that will have you quite satisfied if I say so myself... :D

On second thought, maybe the Mr. Hayney voice is the one I should be using as my recollections of Green Acres fall back into place. :uhoh:

Well, new S&W guns? Yah, maybe. But there isn't enough money in the world to buy all the older S&W revolvers that I want.

What wheelguns do you have? I'm sure many will chime in with the holes in your collection.

I was completely happy with what I had. Then I realized, as a 1911 fan, I didn't have a pony in my small collection. An SS Series 70 was just the ticket.

NOW I'm completely happy with what I have. And I'll neeeever need another gun.:D

I would second the suggestion you try blackpowder. It's opened a
new world of shooting for me. Blackpowder pistols can be purchased
for half of what most modern pistols cost.
