I had to share this one, I traded a Gen 2 G23, to a guy for a CS45, in pristine condition, as was mine. I threw in all the goodies as I don't plan on getting another 23, although I do have other Glocks.
So here is the funny part, I am looking through another forum, and there is the gun. Two hours later, with all the goodies, lol. The only thing is the guy has it up for $900.00. Yes 9 hundred. Now I take great care of my guns, but I wonder what he was thinking. I just found it funny, I had to show my wife, who had taken the ride with me and she almost fell out of the chair. She is always amazed at such things. well that's it, go figure.

$900 for a used Glock? Man you should have kept that gem if it was worth that much.
Good trade on the CS45, I really would like to own one of those myself.

Did these "goodies" consist of a stack of cash? :D

Gun flipping... I really don't think it works that way.

I love this CS45. I went over it from top to bottom, and if it was fired, it couldn't have been more tha a couple of mags, it doesn't have a mark on it. The slide is as tight as a new pistol and the ramp and barrell look unused. I don't think he knew what he had. Even the grips look like new. Nice weight and size, much like a Colt defender.

I'm reminded of these camera stores in Japan where people keep cameras & lenses for sale on consignment. They don't really want them to sell so they are usually priced at twice what the item goes for. If someone is really silly enough to buy it they can get another one themselves. But more importantly, in the meantime, they can say "But honey, I am trying to sell it like you said I should..." :)

I've seen a few auctions at ebay & gunbroker that make me think people are doing that there as well... ;)

I've seen some guys do it with sports cars, specifically several guys who have had a car like a Camero for long enough that it is sentimental. I do wonder if the wives ever catch on to the overpricing.:uhoh:

::EDIT:: Actually I've seen it even more with motorcycles. It helps its easier to have multiple bikes than multiple cars :)

I had the same thing happen, traded a gun, I found it for sale the next day. It is his gun now so I guess no harm no foul.

ok.... I am in a poor mood today so keep that in mind as you read this suggestion.

You should post link to the G23 so we can bug him with requests for more pictures, additional info and how cool the Glock is. He would have 500 views and not a single offer. That would make my day.

Well, $900 is a loopy price for a used Glock, but I don't see anything at all wrong with the idea of someone trading for a gun and then immediately selling it. Presumably he wanted to get rid of the CS45, and figured a Glock would be easier to move. I've done that before...been selling something and gotten a trade offer that strikes me as more valuable than my piece for sale. So I make the trade, and sell the new item instead.

It's listed on forida gun trader, I don't want to put up the link, but it's there, he now threw in a box of 9mm and wants to trade for an AR

Now it's reduced to $700.00, it grew night sights, "he has the paint", and the ammo is pictured "my old 40 caliber range ammo" and it's marked as 9mm. He has no shame. And the AR trade is gone.lol

hahahah... too funny

and geez what a good deal! trade a glock with pain on night sights for an AR!... someone is missing out

JOe

little did you know you didn't have a G23 but it was actually a glock 7, a porcelain pistol that is invisible to metal detectors.!

Man that was a long time back, but most of my stuff was Safariland, Galco, or De Santis. I have seen them for other guns, it's a cutaway type with a thumb break.

I was in need of money once, and had a gun I wanted to sell, but couldn't find a buyer. I managed to trade it off for somthing of the same value, but in greater demand. I then sold the gun I had traded for for the same ammount I wanted to get out of the first gun. we all made out good in that deal. 2 guys got cool new guns, and I got the money i needed.
