Dryft,
Personally I would go with Glock 19 gen 3 or 4.I have a gen 3 and it works with no problems after 600+ rounds and counting.

I really liked my FNP45 Tactical but haven't tried the newer FNX series. Superficially you can hardly tell 'em apart. Sucks that you had such a bad experience with their CS department. I never needed service, my ran like a scalded cat. Eventually I traded it in on an HK USP45 Tactical since the LGS finally got one and it's the one I wanted in the first place.

Shame there's so few options for a real gun with a hammer. If anyone wants to call me OLD, now would be a good time!:neener::D

FN, SIG, HK, Beretta, CZ, all make quality DA/SA hammer guns in popular calibers.

Then you have Taurus, Bersa, Sarmsilaz and a bunch of other "economy" outlets making them

Well, the gun is sold.

Went out and shot it again and, while the ejection was somewhat improved, I was still glad to be wearing a hat. The magazines certainly wouldn't take more than 15 rounds, and I think what gearhead said is the ticket - all the springs on the pistol need setting.

The new owner has a few FN guns and has been appraised of the pistol's early teething problems. I'm certainly not complaining about the new Kimber crimson carry I got in exchange, that's for sure.

Thank you all for your advice and information - I think my next 9mm will definitely be a G19.

Dryft.
