Garand Rear Sight Problem

These sites have full disassembly of the M1, including an illustrated guide to disassembling and reassembling the rear sight.

The CMP site has good instructions, including how to re-tension the windage adjustment.

NOTE: After you reassemble the sight, you have to tension the sight so it works properly.

Often, rear sights are improperly tensioned, and the windage won't work because the sight tension is set too high.

Also, be sure you don't have one of the WWII "Lock bar" rear sights with a locking bar to prevent the sight from moving.

How can I tell if it is a "lock-bar" sight?

Thanks,
