A vote for the

Vaquero. I got a SS, NIB Bisley Vaquero in .44mag and it is great. Recoi9l is not bad even with the stock wooden grips. .44 spl feels like a .22. Also, even with my eyes and it's sights I can keep all my hits in a paper plate at 50'.

Ruger!!

I just sold a Taurus. After reading about the crappy quality I realy looked mine over and found that it is not made well. I told the buyer everything I saw that was not up to par on it and he didnt care. he said it only needs to hit a man sized target at 15 feet. Well it will do that. I am now shopping for a Ruger. if I were you I would do the same. just my opinion.

Troggy, what Taurus did you sell that was so cruddy? Not a Gaucho, was it?

I have seen the quality of Taurus firearms improve greatly over the past few years, and I would expect any current production weapon to be far better than you describe.

tracker

It was a Tracker 44mag. I realy liked it at 1st. Fit for me was great. The design was a good one. The craftsmanship was poor. I read a lotta dirt on Taurus and was getting sucked in to the talk when I desided to judge MY gun on its quality not what Ive read and when a closer look was taken it was just made withOUT care. The bbl to me looks bent to the right and the rib on top of the bbl is not straight making the front sight a bent to the right enough that if you look hard you can tell, plus the ejector rod isnt straight. It shoots ok packs well(you barly feel it on yer hip) but Taurus dosnt give a crap about quality, at least not with this gun. The guy that got it knows whats wrong but dosnt care as it shoots 4" at 50 feet and thats all he wanted plus I cave him a good deal. I was going to send it to taurus but my buddy that has it now just said sell it to him. I just think that with a Ruger you know you will get a strong gun. I will say that the cylinder lockup is good though on the Tracker. I got the Tracker last Jan.
