Gee, that new anti-spam law is working soooo well.

Most of the spam I now receive has an extension of .co.uk . Same girls, different address.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I figure the next move the telemarketers will make is to make bulk-contract sat calls from Canada or the UK.

Same here...same old message, different domains.

Let me see....todays inbox count 80 total messages, 65 SPAMS...all the "Usual Suspects"

Xanax, Zoloft, etc...the anti-depresseant drugs

Then all the various diet/metabolism drugs

Drugs/Herbs for [ahem] male enhancement

Viagra, cialis, etc and that "Female Viagra"

Work from home

"Make a fortune on Ebay"

and the ever-popular "son of a deceased Foreign Minister in Nigeria/Zimbabwe/Sudan with USD $65 Million that is unclaimed", etc. etc.

At work I've been getting spam at a rate of 75% of all incoming e-mails. I made the mistake of having my e-mail address placed on the web page for all spammers to snag. It's off now, but still the spam continues.

Lots of viruses have come my way. Some snagged by our intrepid ITS guys, others deleted by me.

Most spam sending SMTP addresses are bogus. That's why it so difficult to backtrack to the sender. The IP address is the best method.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a bounty on spammer's ears?

Actually, they should take the spammers and cut their fingers off. Do it on world-wide TV or in a big public square. Pretty hard to type e-mails with no fingers. The spammers will always be a step ahead in technology so getting AOL, Yahoo, MS and others together to fight the problem is little more than a publicity stunt. They can find a few of the spammers and haul them into court but all I see happening is the spammer paying damages to the companies. Don't think for a minute that we, the e-mail users and recipients of all of this crap, will see a dime in damages nor will the problem go away in the short run.

LMAO.

Hmm, I get none at home. Nothing I'm not interested in comes through.

At work, I get at least 25 spams a day, girls and animals, Viagra and about my penis.

Glad I don't have to deal with the crap from my home connection.

Spam wouldn't get sent if it didn't generate business. I don't advocate unlawful marketing techniques, but they are just trying to make a buck.

The people responding to spam adds keep it profitable, the same morons who buy things from unsolicited telemarketing calls. Spam is cheap, it doesn't take many sales to make it worthwhile.

Yeah, I've noticed the sharp increase too. I haven't taken time to look at the extensions, though. It was nice to have the sharp decrease in spam...shame it only lasted about six weeks or so.

I'm the opposite of you, Carlos, in that I get virtually 100% of my spam on my personal account, and only very rarely receive one at work. Usually the only reason I log onto my personal account is to clean out the spam so that I don't go over my account's size limit (one of those deals where the service is free but with space limited to 2 MB). If I don't log in and clean the crap out at least once a week, I can expect to have my account maxed out and temporarily closed. All because of the *%(#%!( spam. To the spammers out there: BITE ME! :cuss:

Funny post, Mike! :D

As much as I would like to see all spammers publically beaten to death I'm afraid this is OT.
