I'm possibly looking to sell my Polytech M1a. I was wondering what is the general price they go for. This one has less then 2000rd through it (if that), comes with 5 20 round magazines and 1 5 round magazine, and comes with about 120 rounds of surplus 7.62x39 ammo.

What is a good price to start it at and how much should I expect to make on it?

Somewhere in the 900-1100 range, at least based on recent gunbroker ending prices. Most seem to be fetching right at $1000.

Presume you mean 7.62x51 for the ammo.

nbkky71 Heel-stamp Polytech rifles tend to command higher prices as well.

+1

And you basic Norinco and Poly Tech M14 now sells for about $1200.00

So if the gun alone goes for about 1200$ the price with 5 magazines and 400 rounds of ammo can go for about $1500?

Here are several that ended within the past month. You can compare your condition and accessories to these and make a judgment from there. They range in price from $900 with 6 mags to 1225 with 3 mags. The 1225 does seem to be on the high end recently, there are several in the 1200-1300 range that are not selling. Probably 50 cents a round is a safe bet for the ammo.

You may be able to get 1500 for the package, but I think you'll be closer to the 1100-1300 range depending on the condition of the rifle and the whims of the gun market on the week you sell it.
