from CDNN, will it work fine or should I get it from someone else that would be better for my Springfield (Wilson, SA)? It seems like a simple enough part, but heck, I don't know for sure.

Yes, I have become tired or requiring an allen wrench to disassemble my 1911!

Guide Rod

Howdy WhoKnows,

Can't say, since the steel and heat-treat quality is unknown. Ed Brown
makes a nice one, and is listed in Brownells catalog #56 as part number
087-882-001 (rod)
087-881-001 (plug)
List price is 23 bucks for both, plus shipping, and 15 for just the rod.
Brownells toll-free number is: 1-800-741-0015
The rod may need minor clearance fitting to prevent contact with the bottoms of the slide rails.

Luck!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the parts in CDNN are from the Masen corp. They are mil-spec of decent quality. I got several small parts for a kit gun and all with the exception of the MSH were fine. The checkering on the MSH looked like mud. Customer service has always been top shelf.
