I saw a WW2 german airman's mauser (not sure if that's the exact name) with all the swastika markings intact for $325 at a gun show recently. It had the sight hood on as well. It was in pretty good shape mechanically, and the barrel had somewhat sharp rifling still. Does anyone know much about the german luftwaffe/airman mausers and what they're worth? I know all they are is a 98k with some different markings.

It wasn't some kind of fake- my dad knows the vet selling the rifle. I didn't have the money to buy it.

If its all original ,matching numbers on ALL parts including the stock.$ 900.00- $1,100.00. The price you said it was for sale for , reflects a Russian capture. They are mix-master rifles.
You should ALWAYS do research before buying a German "bringback" ,as there are many FAKES out there. If you can take picts of it or have access to it to look it over real good?,then go to gunboards forum ..http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6. These guys know their K98's!
