After getting my Mosin a couple months back, I think the collecting bug bit me.

Well anyway I found a site that just got a new shipment of German WWII K98s, Nazi markings and all, and judging by the pictures, they are in really good condition.

Once again we bring you the chance to own this classic piece of WWII Military History! These Original German Nazi K-98 Mauser Rifles were captured by the Russians, then reconditioned and stored after the War.These Rifles are the cleanest of any shipment we have received in years. All original German Manufacturer codes, marks and date are intact. Very-good+ Metal and Wood condition. No Guarantee for bore condition but they appear to be nice bores. Cleaning rod, sight hood, and locking screws not included.

They're selling for $210.00, my first question is if this is a good price or not. Second, has anyone done business with this company before, and if so how did it go?

Currently holding off buying "historical" weapons, as I don't know much about spotting fakes.

AIM

$210 isn't a bad price for a K98. Someone might be able to tell you where to find one cheaper, but AIM will stand behind their products. I have bought 2 rifles from AIM and I haven't been disappointed.

If they are the same as the ones we got here they will be a mixture of parts of all types, renumbered with an electric pencil on the major components with the old numbers still visible. No locking screws or rods. Repro hoods can be obtained. Generously covered in oil or grease.

I have several of the K98's. One that I purchased from SAMCO in Miami, Fl was supposed assembled in Chezoslovaki late in WW11 from parts shipped out of Germany in closing date of the conflict. All appeared as advertised. Barrel was in new condition. Receiver marked CE (J.P. Sauer & Son) Bolt was late war without the guide rib. Nice shooter. See they are still listing K98's in VG conditon for 199.00 with had select for and additional 10 bucks. Might be good to give them a call at 305 593 9782 and see what they have. Anyhow, I was very pleased with my purchase.

They are old Russian captures being sold. When the Russians got them they rebuilt the rifles with the best parts, while getting rid of the junk and thats why the numbers don't match. They are pretty nice rifles nonetheless.

Aim Surplus is a good outfit, service has been good in the past and I would order from them again.

Two years ago the prices on the Russian Capture K-98's was around $200, recently I have seen the nicer examples going for up to $275 at gun shows (Pennsylvania).

I would jump on it myself.
