We are new to CCW in MO. I got my permit (4.5" x 8.5") last April. The state is catching up with all the details of the law. Starting on July 1, the Department of Revenue (driver's license folks in MO) will start issuing CCW "endorsements" on driver's licenses. This means you have to "renew" your license and the odds are pretty good it is not due for renewel. The CCW is only good for 3 years, then it must be renewed. Driver's licenes is good for six, so you have to spend more money and take twice as many exams as others. Plus the 'stigma' of showing your DL when you write a check and have the clerk freak out when they see "CCW Endorsement" in red ink on top of your license. Plus the license renewel is $18.00.
Fortunately the legislators thought ahead and allow the CCW endorsement to be placed on a Missouri picture ID card (originally conceived so that people who do not drive can have a state id with their picture for check cashing, etc). This only costs $11.00 and is good forever. I'm gonna be at the license bureau bright and early July 1. The oversized lamenated permit will stay with them and not fall out of my wallet again.;)
I guess it is a small enough hassle considering what you get. The comical part will be in how many DL offices get it right on the first day. Communication to state agencies on CCW has not be state-of-the-art if you get my drift.

Nice to know some other Missourians are here. I'm going with the ID card on mine. No use letting every person I give my drivers license for ID know that I'm carrying.

Be safe.
