This may have been discussed already, so apologies if its a dupe. Just got done giving my $0.02

Issue: Civil Rights
Comments: Dear Congressman Matheson, I write to you today to express my support for HR 197 introduced by U.S. Representatives Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) and Rick Boucher (D-Va.). This bill grants nation-wide reciprocity for law-abiding concealed carry permit holders. It is similar to the way we honor drivers licenses from other States. The biggest difference is that CCW permit holders cause far less death and destruction than licensed drivers tend to (statistically speaking), and CCW permit holders have to endure far greater scrutiny throughout the application process than drivers are required to. We will of course still have to abide by the "no carry zone" restrictions as per CCW laws of the State we are in when traveling. This will greatly aid in demystifying CCW when traveling, and allow good people to protect themselves and their family while on the road. On that note, I urge you to vote for HR 197. It will only serve to protect good people, and help preserve the fundamental rights this country was founded upon. Thank you

California would freak out if this law were to be passed. Can you imagine? I'd have to make a trip to the Republic of California just to walk around with several guns on me.

I was thinking the same thing... my father lives there so I visit a lot. I think I would be afraid that they would just ignore it and arrest me anyway.

This has been discussed several times, including the fact that this might not actually be a good thing. Please continue any additional discussion in one of those threads.
