Taurus 605. Can be had for like $400ish? 5 shot .357 Mag that’ll fit in a pocket and spits flame. Her bark might be worse than her bite and .357 Mag is no slouch.

I dunno about that, man.

For sure the flash is blinding and the blast is deafening, but it's not worse than the bit of a 357 pill moving out at "only" ~950 fps. ;)

Brother and I were on the farm last weekend and I was shooting my ported 45ACP and he his 605 and I asked for a whirl and my god was that muzzle blast fierce. If you miss your assailant you’ll probably still be fine because everyone will be on the ground with their ears bleeding.

Also, if you’re only getting 950 fps you need to try some different ammo. The last stuff he chrono’ed out of it was admittedly light but still was going 1440 FPS.

"Ghetto Revolver" is there such a thing?

The NAZIs were deporting Jewish people from the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943. Hundreds of thousands were sent to the death camp Treblinka.

When only around 50,000 souls were left in the ghetto, these Jewish people who were trapped there had managed to put together a stash of 6 handguns, plus a whole lot of other make-do weapons. With these, they would shoot German soldiers who they were able to intercept when only by themself or in a group of two. The dead German's rifles were then taken and used by the Jewish Resistance inside the ghetto. Inevitably, the Germans had to bring in artillery to wipe-out those left in the ghetto.

Today, I bought a bunch of subsonic .22 LR ammunition.

A little .32 will do. Pop'em & drop'em. The fewer people who hear, the more the demons do fear.

There is one problem I foresee with the Charter Bulldogs - none of them have a bobbed/hidden hammer.
The Charter Undercover's do have a bobbed one with Hogue grips - https://charterfirearms.com/collections/undercover/products/13811-undercover-blue-dao. It's a 5-shot .38 Special with a 2" barrel.

Why bother, when Charter will just sell you the bobbed hammer?

When you want to make a gun the way you want it, but you want to keep an inexpensive gun inexpensive. Same reason I modded the factory issue grip.

The savings from not buying an extra hammer and grip (plus shipping) allowed me to pay for an entire 50 round box of .32 mag ammo.
